When Jesse and I got married then started talking about kids, a lot of times we would use the phrase "we would never let our child...." or "we will never do that." Well, we must eat our words now. One of those phrases was "we will never let our child watch TV until at least a year old, or use the TV as a mere distraction." Well, last night Tanner was getting cranky, but we didn't want to put him down for a nap because it was too close to bed time, and we were trying to cook and clean the kitchen. Without much thought to it, we put him in his bumbo and set him in front of the computer and put on Peppa the Pig. He was entertained and well behaved. He stayed up happily until his bedtime and let us get some things done that we needed to. At least he watch an educational form of Peppa the Pig, learning the ABC's. It won't be a daily occurrence, but it sure it helpful in those stressful moments and trying to figure out how to get things done and calm a child in place of a nap. We are learning as we go.
